MANAGING THE TRANSCEIVER
This section covers the management and programming tasks that can be
performed with the transceiver’s built-in menu system. A top level view
of the menu tree is shown, as well as a chart listing commonly-needed
tasks and the appropriate menu(s) to refer to.
No attempt has been made to show
every
possible submenu of the trans-
ceiver in this section. The objective is to explain how to locate the
proper menu for a specific task and what selections to use once you are
there. A complete listing of all menu screens is provided in the Menu
Reference section at the back of this manual.
NOTE:
This manual assumes menu-based control as the primary
method of managing the radio. To return to menu control from
other programming modes, enter the command
menu
.
For specialized applications, a command line interface is
described in “APPENDIX-A CLI Scripting Interface” on
Page 120.
6.1 Menu Access
The subsection called “Initial Configuration” on Page 22 explains how
to log into the menu system and access the Main Menu (Figure 24). This
is the entry point for
all
transceiver functions. Review this previous sec-
tion if you have not yet established a PC connection with the radio.
