COMPATIBILITY CODES
•
Because of continuous product evolution, the components and procedures used may change from
time to time. New versions are not always compatible with the old, and this means that some compo-
nents and procedures should be used only with certain versions of the product.
•
This manual identifies items which are affected by such changes by codes which appear in the text or
in the
Compatibility
column of the Component Index (see
).
There are two types of Compatibility Code:
•
Compatibility codes defined by Change Points
•
Compatibility code defined by a type of Subsystem
5-1
Compatibility Codes Defined by Change Points
Changes introduced in manufacturing are identified by
Change Points
, which are described below.
These points are shown in the System history chronogram. These points are used to define intervals of
compatibility. The following table provide generic examples of how you should select a FRU in the Com-
ponent Index.
5-2
Compatibility Code Defined by a Type of Subsystem
Sometimes the Senographe system may be equipped with alternate subsystem. For example two types
of Control station, equivalent from a feature point of view, but built with different hardware or software.
The following table provide examples of how you should select a FRU related to the Control Station in
the Component Index.
Component
Compatibility
code
Means that
FRU A
-70
This FRU should be ordered for systems which technical releases have been
manufactured before 70 (e.g. Nepthys M49 and below).
FRU B
70-90
This FRU should be ordered for systems which technical release has been
manufactured in the period 70 to 90 (e.g. Nepthys M49 to Nephtys M411).
FRU C
+90
This FRU should be ordered for systems which technical releases have been
manufactured after 90 (e.g. Nephtys M411 and above)
Component

code
Means that
FRU A
Erg
This FRU should be ordered to fit into Control Stations equipped only with the
Ergotron rotative arm.
FRU B
Sis
This FRU should be ordered to fit into Control Stations equipped only with the
Sisifle rotative arm.
FRU C
Erg&Sis
This FRU should be ordered to fit into Control Stations equipped either with the
Ergotron or Sisfle rotative arm.
FRU D
Pre-Pend
This FRU should be ordered to fit into Control Stations created before Pen-
duick.
FRU E
Post-Pend
This FRU should be ordered to fit into Control Stations created at Penduick or
above.
