Support for Large Ethernet Global Data Configurations
The VersaMax CPUE05 Ethernet Global Data (EGD) feature supports a configuration of
up to 32 exchanges, at periods as short as 10 ms, with data sizes as large as 1400 bytes.
However, the CPUE05 cannot support a configuration in which every aspect of EGD is
maximized. The chart below indicates the maximum number of EGD exchanges that the
CPUE05 can realistically support of a certain size and data refresh period under
Best-
Case
conditions. These numbers will scale downwards based on the size of the user
program, the presence of other Ethernet traffic, etc.
The term
Best-Case
indicates the following setup parameters apply:
•
No user logic is present, so the logic sweep time is nearly 0
•
There are no modules present in the system.
•
No other Ethernet traffic present on the network.
•
Assumed data refresh timeout is 2 × refresh 10ms
