Salt consumption
10.2.3 Salt consumption
The production rates and the lives indicated in the table below are given for 24h/24h operation under nominal condi-
tions of operation with air at +25°C and water at +15°C.
This data is for a salt solution of 80 to 110 grams per tonne of ice produced.
10.2.4 Operation of the dosing pump
10.2.4.1 Operation
Tip
The salt dissolves more quickly if you use
hot water.
10.2.4.2 Priming the salt dosing pump
Tip
If you are unable to prime the pump using the
method indicated above, you can unscrew the
pump inlet connector and prime the pump by
immersing the inlet pipe in the brine.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an interrupter switch be in-
stalled beside the feed of the dosing pump in order
to switch it off when changing the brine container
so that it does not require repriming.
“to be amended according to the quality of the water”,
see limits chapter 2.4 and refer to GENEGLACE.
Do not wait until the brine container
is empty before replacing it.
- apply power to the dosing pump with # 1 on/off
switch
- Adjust stroke at 100 % (# 3) and the speed at 80 % (# 2).
- Turn the knurled knob located on 4-way valve E for a
1/4 turn and maintain it open.until brine drips out of the
draining tube (return to bin).
- After successful priming release the knurled knob.
- Adjust the # 2 and # 3 knobs according to the ice maker
as per table 1.
- Ensure that brine is dripping at the injection valve B.
Pump is shipped from the factory with water in the pump
head to aid in priming.
After a prolonged stop, remember to fi ll again the pump
head with water.
The salt dosing pumps uses brine - either saturated or
non-saturated.
The saturated brine
is made with 10 Kg of rock salt (or
salt tablets) immersed in 30 liters of water.
The non-saturated brine
is made with 5 Kg of fi ne table
salt diluted in 30 liters of water
