Cooktop Lockout Operation:
In addition to a door lock, the range is also equipped with a cooktop lockout switch
which disables the surface elements during the self-clean operation. When the selfclean
cycle is started, the lock motor rotates and closes the cooktop lockout switch.
This energizes the cooktop lockout relay located on the back of the range. The relay
contacts will open and disable the surface elements. The surface elements will remain
inoperable until the self-clean operation is complete.
