of use of the machine. While manufacturing the 

machine, we have been provided for all potential 

situations of danger and implemented the 

appropriate protections. Distraction, light- weight 

and too much confidence often cause accidents; as 

they can be fatigue and drowsiness. It is therefore 

compulsory to read this Manual very carefully and, in 

particular, the Section «2 Safety and Prevention».

2.1.1 TERMS USED

Definitions of specific people and situations are 

described below, which may directly involve the 

machine and/or people in direct contact with the 

machine itself.

• USER: The User is the person or entity or 

company, which purchased or rented the machine 

and which intends to use it for the uses intended for 

the purpose.

• DANGEROUS AREA: Any area inside and/or near 

a machine in which the presence of an ex- posed 

person constitutes a risk to the safety and health of 

that person.

• EXPOSED PERSON: Any person wholly or partially 

in a danger zone.

• OPERATOR: The person responsible for installing, 

operating, adjusting, performing mainte- nance, 

cleaning, repairing and transporting the machine.

• SPECIALISED PERSONNEL: As such we mean those 

people specially trained and authorized to carry 

out maintenance or repairs that require particular 

knowledge of the machine, its opera- tion, safety, 

intervention methods and who are able to recognize 

the dangers deriving from use of the machine and, 

therefore, may be able to avoid them.

WARNING

 

The Instruction Manual for use must be read, 

memorized and kept for the entire life of the machine 

until it is completely dismantled.

If the Manual is damaged or lost, immediately 

request a copy from the Manufacturer. Failure to 

comply with what is described in “Section 2 - Safety 

and prevention” and any tampering with the safety 

devices release the Manufacturer from any liability 

in the event of accidents, damage or malfunctions of 

the machine.

GENERAL WARNING

-  The User undertakes to entrust the machine 

exclusively to qualified and trained staff.

-  The User is required to take all appropriate 

measures to prevent unauthorized people from 

using the machine.

-  The User undertakes to inform its staff adequately 

on the application and compliance with the safety 

regulations.

-  The User must inform Mega Norge AS if defects or 

malfunctions of the accident prevention systems 

are found, as well as any situation of presumed 

danger.

-  The Operator must always use personal protective 

equipment (PPE: Personal Protective Equip- ment) 

required by legislation and follow the instructions 

in this Manual.

-  The Operator must comply with all the signs of 

danger and WARNING shown on the machine.

-  The Operator must not carry out operations on its 

own initiative or interventions that are not within 

its competence.

-  The machine must not be operated with guards 

removed or partially damaged.

-  The assembly of pieces of other brands or any 

changes (in addition to voiding the warranty) may 

vary the machine’s characteristics and hence affect 

its operational safety.

2.1.2 SAFETY SIGNS

The machine has been designed taking all the 

possible solutions for the protection and safety of 

those who work on it. Nevertheless, the machine 

may have residual risks; those risks that that it has 

not been possible to eliminate completely in certain 

conditions of use.

These potential risks are shown on the machine with 

stickers (pictograms), which indicate the different 

situations of insecurity and/or danger in essential 

form. Keep the warning stickers clean and replace 

them immediately when they are removed or 

damaged.

Referring to Figure 2, please read what described 

below and memorize its meaning.

1)  Obligation to wear a helmet during operation 

and maintenance operations

2)  Obligation to wear protective shoes during 

operation and maintenance operations

3)  Obligation to wear protective gloves during 

operation and maintenance operations

4)  Obligation to wear protective goggles during 

operation and maintenance operations

operation and maintenance operations

6)  Obligation to wear tight-fitting coveralls/clothing 

during operation and maintenance opera- tions

7)  Remove the cardan shaft and read the 

instructions for use before any intervention on 

the machine

shaft when it is rotating

machine with water
