Parallel operation PM3000i 230V AC
Before connecting the electrical appliance to the
generator, make sure that it is in good working
condition and that its electrical rating does not
exceed that of the generator. Most of the motorized
equipment requires more power at start-up than
in operation. When an electric motor is turned
on, the red light for overload can light up. This is
normal, and it will turn off within approx. 4 seconds
(assuming that the engine does not during operation
require more power than the unit produces). If the
red lamp continues to light without the unit being
overloaded, contact an authorized service center.
NOTE: For parallel connection of 2 pcs PM3000i, the
“ESC” switch must always be in the same position on
both units.
1. Connect 2 pcs PM3000i using the cable Kit
(optional, see picture 1, artno.573338).
2. Start the engines and check that the output
indicator light (green) is on both units.
3. Connect electrical appliance into the AC receptacle
on the cable Kit.
4. Start the connected equipment.
In case of overload or short-circuit of connected
appliance, the overload light (red) will be turned
on. The red lamp will continue and after approx. 4
seconds the power is switched off to the electrical
outlets. In addition, the operating light (green)
will also turn off. Stop both engines and check the
cause. In case of overload, reduce consumption
before restart. In case of short-circuit of connected
appliance, do not use this before the problem is
repaired.
• Never connect different generator models.
• Never use a cable other than the specified cable
for parallel operation.
• Connection/disconnection of cable must be done
with the engines turned off.
• Always remove cable if only using one generator
How to use PM3000i in parallel operation
By using the cable-kit (optional, see picture 1,
artno. 573338) you can connect 2 pcs PM3000i
in parallel operation to increase output power.
Before connecting the electrical appliance, read the
following:
TIP:
• Please ensure that the appliance that is connected
is in good technical condition and that the power
cable is not damaged.
• In the event of connected equipment starts to
behave abnormally, such as running uneven or
suddenly stops, turn it off immediately. Disconnect
the appliance and check whether the problem is
the appliance, or the rated load capacity of the
generator has been exceeded.
• Always make sure that combined load does not
exceed what the two units produce together. Never
exceed the max continuous power in periods
of max. 30 minutes. Never connect different
generator models
• For parallel operation use only the cable kit
(optional, see picture 1, artno. 573338).
• Never disconnect the cables while the units are in
operation.
• With the use of only one unit, make sure that the
cables for parallel connection are disconnected.
Substantial overloading that continuously lights the
overload indicator (red) may damage the generator.
Marginal overloading that temporarily light the
overload indicator (red) may shorten the service life
of the generator. Loads beyond continuous power
should not be carried out for extended periods. For
parallel-connected units, max. power 5.0 kW. For
continuous operation, do not exceed combined load
which is 4.5 kW. Check appliance to be connected to
the generator. Information about power consumption
is usually on the device’s data plate.
