Body Anti-corrosion and External Maintenance
1. Body Anti-corrosion
How to prevent Geely car from corrosion
Geely adopted the most advanced science
and technology to protect the vehicle parts
from corrosion, and the best vehicle structure
through continuous research and design. Ap-
propriate maintenance can protect the vehicle
from corrosion for a long time.
The most common causes of vehicle corrosion
are:
Salt, dust, and moisture gather in areas at the
bottom of the car, where it is hard to reach.
Paint and the undercoat are destroyed by
slight collision, or scratches from stones or
bricks.
Please be very careful if you live in special
areas or operate the car under special cir-
cumstances:
Salt or dirt with chemical mixtures from
the road increases corrosion. In industrial
polluted areas or by sea, there is salt in air,
too.
High humidity speeds up corrosion, espe-
cially when the humidity is just over zero.
Some parts of the vehicle are always wet
or damp, the vehicle corrodes even other
parts are dry.
High indoor humidity results in corrosion
of the parts that need to be dried by dry-
ers at unventilated places. All the above
indicates the importance of keeping the car
clean, especially the bottom, and timely
repair of damaged paint
Obey the following instructions to protect
Geely vehicles from rust.
Often wash car. Of course, washing the car
regularly keeps the car clean. But to avoid rust-
ing, please obey the following advice.
If the car runs on salty roads in winter, or
beside the sea, wash the running parts at
least every month to reduce corrosion.
High pressure and steam are very effective
to clean chassis. Since the mud and dirt are
hard to see clearly, pay special attention
to that. Simply wet the mud and dirt but
not get rid of them is more harmful. Car
doors, rocker panels, and the lower trim
of vehicle frame have drain holes, if water
gathers there, there will be corrosions. So
prevent the dirt from plugging these holes.
Clean the chassis thoroughly after winter.
For more advice, please refer to “Washing
and Waxing”.
Inspect body paint and accessories.
If strips
or cracks are detected, repair the paint immedi-
ately to avoid corrosion. If paint strips off the
metal, have the vehicle repaired by quali
