Changing the engine oil filter cartridge
WARNING!
Use extra caution when draining hot engine oil, because of the risk of burns.

Wear protective gloves
Environment!
Use a suitable container to collect the engine oil as it drains.
Dispose of used oil and filters in an environmentally friendly manner!

Change the filter as follows:
•
Stop the engine
•
Place a suitable container under the oil filter to collect the oil
•
Release and unscrew the oil filter cartridge using a commercially available tool
•
Be sure the thread adapter 140/1 is correctly placed in the filter head
•
Clean the inside of the filter head
•
Apply a thin coat of fresh engine oil to the rubber seal 140/2 of the new oil filter
cartridge
•
Tighten the new filter cartridge by hand until the gasket makes contact
•
Tighten the oil filter cartridge by hand with a further half or three-fourths of a
revolution
•
Make sure the oil level is correct!
•
Run the engine for a short time
•
Switch off the engine
•
Check the seal of the oil filter cartridge and retighten by hand
•
Check the oil level and add engine oil if necessary
•
Completely remove all oil spills from the engine
•
Dispose of the used oil filter in an environmentally friendly manner
