CAUTION
Silencing or clearing alarms must be done only if
sufficient and valid reasons exist, notably after
verification of patient condition and GeVentor
performance.
NOTE
Default alarm tolerance settings are given in
Section 6.3 of this document.
Where an alarm stops or pauses the GeVentor, a good practice is to reset the system to last operational set points and conditions.
6.15
Stopping Ventilation
To stop ventilation from VCV or PCV mode:
•
Press “Stop” button on the HM
I.
•
An alarm will sound and a banner will appear to request confirmation that the user wants to stop ventilation.
•
The ventilator will switch to Stand-by / Off-set Mode.
6.16
Stand-by / Off-State Mode
When the device is in “Stand
-
by” mode
, it is awaiting either an initial start in which case it will be in the default mode with default
settings or if the unit has been running and is waiting to be re-started it will still be holding the settings from the last ventilation.
To return to default settings and re-set the controls, it is necessary to power down the unit with the on/off switch on the left-hand
side of the unit.
DANGER
Patients are not to be connected to the GeVentor
when in “Stand
-
by” or “Off
-
State” mode.
Ventilation does not
take place when in “Stand
-
by”
mode.
If the unit is switched off at the power source the unit will be re-set upon start. Upon switching the GeVentor on, all settings are
default settings.

by” mode

6.17
Shutdown
The user may select to switch the GeVentor off while keeping it in Battery Back-up Mode. This is done by switching the ON/OFF
switch to the OFF position, where the following banner will display. The user can select to fully switch the GeVentor off or remain
in Battery Back-
up Mode by selecting the “YES” or “NO” buttons as shown.
