Cleaning and Maintenance
DANGER
Risk of electric shock. Do not immerse the
GeVentor or its power cord in water or place
liquids on top of the ventilator.
DANGER
Risk of explosion. Do not allow oxygen supply
components to come into contact with elements
(such as fuels, heat, oils) that may result in
combustible or explosive gas mixtures.
NOTE
This IFU document does not cover the GeVentor
attachments, for example tubing and filters. These
accessories are to be cleaned per Intensive Care
Unit procedures to avoid risk of contamination
and/or fire.
8.1 Cleaning Procedure
Healthcare workers shall clean the exterior surface of the GeVentor by a manual wipe down using an approved surface wipe with
disinfectant or soft cloth containing an approved surface cleaning liquid disinfectant as per the following procedure:
1.
Use a cloth dampened with disinfectant to remove any soiling.
2.
Perform surface disinfection with an approved disinfectant.
3.
After the specified contact time, remove residual disinfectant.
4.
Wipe down surfaces with water dampened cloth.
5.
Allow surfaces to dry.
6.
Repeat steps 1) to 5) if necessary.
CAUTION
Do not use bleach, chlorine, alcohol, aromatic-
based solutions, and moisturising or antibacterial
soaps to clean the GeVentor. These products may
reduce the life of the product.
Any liquids that penetrate the device may cause
damage to the device, malfunctions as a result of
damage and risk of electric shock. Ensure no liquid
penetrates the device.
