Gas Flowrate Control Knob
When adjusting the gas flow, the pictograph indicator on the HMI indicates gas flow in l/min along the 0
–
100 l/min scale, as
shown below.

Suctioning
The suction function is entered from the Home menu by pressing the Suction button. The suction page displays the circuit pressure
and the flow rate in the system. The suction function requires the operator to ensure that the FiO
2
is set to the correct setting for
the suction function. The flowrate must be set high enough to ensure the unit maintains PEEP pressure in the circuit (typical >30
l/min) to ensure PEEP is not lost whilst suction is being performed.
Pushing the
“S
uction
Start”
button will start a 30 second suction period during which a continuous flow of gas is directed into the
patient circuit and pressurises against the PEEP valve. The GeVentor Expiration valve remains open for this function. Positive PEEP
should be achievable at all times during suction. If not increase flow rate to satisfy the suction volume.
After the suction procedure has been carried out the system will return to previous function before the suction button being
pushed.
