Additional Service, Maintenance and Warnings
Battery Isolation Fuse:
NOTE
The GeVentor is required to contain a battery isolation fuse in order to
preserve the battery storage life and longevity. This fuse is found in the
packaging via an accompanying plastic envelope. Insert this fuse into the
fuse mount located on the bottom of the enclosure before use and remove
before long term storage.
Battery Replacement Kit:
NOTE
In the event of battery failure, which is indicated by the inability to use the
internal battery supply to power the GeVentor, a Battery Replacement Kit
will be arranged for delivery. This ensures new GeVentor batteries are
provided and installed into the device which provide full battery health and
functionality.
Spontaneous breathing:
WARNING
In the unlikely event of complete power loss, the current configuration of the
GeVentor does not allow for patients to
breathe spontaneously
. This
warning is to notify end users (physicians, nursing staff, etc) to ensure they
administer an appropriate level of care when performing mechanical
ventilation on patients.
Obstruction Alarm:
WARNING
The GeVentor is currently not equipped with an alarm to indicate the
occurrence of
obstruction
to the ventilator’s connections (input supply
connections/patient circuit); however, the device does provide “Maximum
Pressure Reached” and “Inspiration Pressure
Exceeded” alarms to indicate
this occurrence. Upon the occurrence of these alarms, please assess the
current condition of all connections to the GeVentor and proceed to
adjusting the appropriate settings to resolve the alarm condition if unrelated
