11.4 Lock out device
Description
The lock out device secures the valve
against accidental or unauthorized
operation. The handwheel can be secured
in all positions against accidental operation.
The lock out device is made of transparent
plastic (PP) so that the position of the
handwheel is visible. Various colors are
available.

performing the tightness

Protect against leakage!

Provide precautionary measures
against exceeding the maximum
permitted pressures caused by
pressure surges (water hammer).
Prior to cleaning or commissioning the
plant:

Check the tightness and the function of
the diaphragm valve (close and reopen
the diaphragm valve).

If the plant is new and after repairs rinse
the piping system with a fully opened
diaphragm valve (to remove any harmful
foreign matter).
Cleaning:
The plant operator is responsible for
selecting the cleaning material and
performing the procedure.
