Smart Compact UPS

OVERVIEW

2.  OVERVIEW

2.1  Introduction and specifications

Gamatronic is proud to present to you the line-interactive

 SMART COMPACT UPS

 (Uninterruptible

Power Supply). The

SMART COMPACT UPS

provides high-quality protection for a PC, a network

workstation, or any small Internet-connected device. The

SMART COMPACT UPS

 includes built-in line

conditioning known as AVR (Auto-Voltage regulation), the best technology for protecting your PC against
all power disturbances, including power blackouts, power surge and power sag. Your choice of the

SMART COMPACT UPS

means you are working smart, protecting your PC against power irregularities,

and protecting yourself against data loss.

2.2

In case of ac mains power failure

In the event of a power failure, the

SMART COMPACT UPS

supplies stable backup power to your

computer (or other connected device) from internal batteries. There is no interruption of power to your
computer.

The

SMART COMPACT UPS

informs you of the loss of ac power by lighting the orange LED on the front

panel, and beeping every four seconds.

The length of time that the

SMART COMPACT UPS

can supply backup power depends on the power

usage of the attached computer or other load, and on the level of battery charge.

In the case where the UPS is connected to a typical PC computer and the UPS battery is fully charged,
you can count on at least three to five minutes of backup, enough time to save your work and shutdown
the computer in an orderly fashion.

Printers typically draw large amounts of power, as do many household appliances. The

SMART

COMPACT UPS

is not designed to provide large amounts of power so do not connect a printer or

household appliances to the UPS.

Be aware that you need to charge the UPS batteries before your first use of the UPS. See section  4.3 on
page 6.
