12.3.2. Record Button
The
Record Button
(a large red dot) controls the recording of the image being
displayed by the software. When the software is started it will not be recording data
and the
Record Button
will be a dark red dot. When the button is clicked the
software will start recording data and the button will be highlighted. Recording can
be stopped by clicking on the button again.
The
Log Directory
selector controls which directory the data is recorded in. The
directory displayed in the
Log Directory
selector is the root directory where all
recorded data will be stored. Below that, a directory will be created using the current
date, and each log data filename will include the time when recording started. For
more details see Section 12.3.10, “Log Directory Selector”.
The software has a maximum file size for the logged data files. Once this size has
been reached, the software will stop logging to the current file and open a new file
to resume logging. The name of the new file will be based on the time the file was
opened. If data is logged for a significant period of time, a number of files will be
created, each with a different filename indicating when the data was first logged to
that file.
For example, if the
Log Directory
selector is showing that the directory selected
is
C:\GeminiData
, and recording was started at 4:30:02pm on 18th of October
2014, the data would be recorded in the file 163002_IMG.ECD in the directory
C:
\GeminiData\LD20141018
.
The software will automatically create any directories needed for recording.
12.3.3. Player Controls
The player controls manage the replay of sonar images previously recorded by the
software.
From left to right they are Play, Stop, Repeat and Open. The controls that are enabled
will depend on what the software is doing, for example, it is not possible to do
anything with the player controls whilst the software is acquiring images from the
Gemini sonar, nor is it possible to open a file whilst another file is already playing.
Play Button
The Play button is a play/pause control for the file player. When the data from a file
is loaded but not playing, the image is a green triangle.
