1.3.2.7 Android Bluetooth communication
Android application using location data from an external GPS receiver need to follow the Bluetooth
protocol for a pairing. Make sure your Android devices has developer settings. Recent Android operating
systems don't have developer settings available by default, and the location of those settings is in different
places on different operating system.
Enable the "Allow mock locations" in Android Settings’ Developer settings. This is a must for the
Bluetooth GPS app to make the GPS receiver's location data available to your apps, bypassing the built-in
GPS.
The iSXBlue/SXBlue II GNSS can be connected to an Android device but you need to use a third party
software to do it.
We use here Bluetooth GPS (you can find it in the Playstore).
Here the pairing protocol:
1-Pair the GPS receiver with the Android device
2-Open Bluetooth GPS and select the iSXBlue/SXBlue from the list.
3-Check the "Enable Mock GPS Provider" box
4-Click on the Settings and be sure that the "Use Insecure Connection" box is checked (with that option,
the Android device will always ask for a password).
5- Reduce the Bluetooth GPs software and open/start the software you want to use.
6- You should be able to track a position from the iSXBlue/SXBlue II GNSS this way.
