Power tool (drill, grinders, angle grinders, etc.) and some kind of lamps (Mercury
vapor / sodium), fluorescent, etc) also have an additional consumption at starting,
which reaches 1.5 to 2 times their rated power.
Refrigerators can also have significant additional consumption, which can reach 4
times their rated power or even more.
Therefore, always confirm the nominal powers (rated) of the equipment to be
connected and ensure that they do not exceed the maximum power produced by
the generator, according to the recommendations above.
8.2 Overload protection.
The generator is equipped with circuit breakers that cut the electrical current
output in case of an overload or short circuit. According to the figure below, these
are:
•
General (1):
To protect the maximum generator output (sum of all sockets).
•
Partial (2):
To protect an electrical socket against an overload
If a circuit breaker switches to the
OFF
position,
must be repositioned in the
ON
position
.
If the circuit breaker returns to the
OFF
position, reduce the power
consumption, because the generator is exceeding its maximum power production.
Circuit breakers
2
are pulse switch type and are armed by pressure. The circuit
breaker
1
is a toggle switch type, which is armed moving up the lever.
NOTE:
If you see that the generator cannot supply the power consumption of
the equipment connected or does not accept it, please do not insist. Continuous
overloads can damage the generator.
