A sensor on the face of the IDU bezel measures ambient light levels. Use
to control the brightness of the panel or display lighting. To adjust panel
lighting (illumination of legends, encoders, inclinometer, and buttons), push
and scroll
clockwise to increase or counter clockwise to decrease. To
adjust display lighting (illumination of the LCD display), without pushing
scroll
as described with panel lighting. Lighting may be controlled locally
or remotely with a default state being with the local control.
NOTE:
If entering ground maintenance mode with bright light shining or reflecting
directly into the display, shield the light sensor to avoid the IDU from
going directly into the flight mode.
