Hydraulic Tank
The primary functions of the hydraulic tank is to
cool, clean and deaerate the hydraulic fluid during
operation. It utilizes internal suction strainer for the
pump supply line.
How to Remove the Hydraulic
Tank
Component damage hazard. The
work area and surfaces where
this procedure will be performed
must be clean and free of debris
that could get into the hydraulic
system and cause severe
component damage. Dealer
service is recommended.
Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,
the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hose
end must be replaced. All connections must be
torqued to specification during installation. Refer to
Specifications,
Hydraulic Hose and Fitting Torque
Specifications.

Remove the hydraulic tank cap.

Remove the drain plug from the hydraulic tank
and completely drain the tank into a container
of suitable capacity. Refer to Specifications,
Machine Specifications
.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying
hydraulic oil can penetrate and
burn skin. Loosen hydraulic
connections very slowly to allow
the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to
squirt or spray.

Tag and disconnect the harnesses from the
ground control box.

Remove the ground control box from the
machine and set aside.

Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hoses
from the hydraulic tank. Cap the fittings on the
tank.

Loosen the hydraulic tank mounting strap
fastener. Pull the tank strap to the side.
Note: Do not remove the tank strap.

Remove the hydraulic tank from the machine.
Component damage hazard.
During installation, do not
overtighten the hydraulic tank
strap mounting fastener.
Note: Clean the hydraulic tank and inspect for
cracks or other damage before installing.
