Starting the Engine

At the ground controls, turn the key switch to
the desired position.

Be sure both ground and platform control red
Emergency Stop buttons are pulled out to the
on position.
Gasoline/LPG models
1
Choose fuel by moving the fuel select switch to
the desired position.

Move the engine start toggle
switch to either side. If the engine
fails to start or dies, the restart
delay will disable the start switch
for 3 seconds.
Diesel models
1
Activate the glow plugs. Push the button or
move the switch.

Start the engine. Push the button or move the
switch. If the engine fails to start or dies, the
restart delay with disable the start switch for
3 seconds.
All models
If the engine fails to start after 15 seconds of
cranking, determine the cause and repair any
malfunction. Wait 60 seconds before trying to start
again.
In cold conditions, -6°C and below, warm the
engine for 5 minutes before operating to prevent
hydraulic system damage.
In extreme cold conditions, -18°C and below,
machines should be equipped with optional cold
start kits. Attempting to start the engine when
temperatures are below -18°C may require the use
of a booster battery.
Gasoline/LPG models: In cold conditions, -6°C and
below, the machine should be started on gasoline
and warmed for 2 minutes, then switched to LPG.
Warm engines can be started on LPG.
