Genuine Stella 4T PDI
Proper Stella dealer prep can take up to 90 minutes. Following these steps will greatly reduce any future issues
and ensure total customer satisfaction!
1. Remove scooter from packaging and inspect for following items:
• Front wheel
• Right and left mirrors
• Right and left cowls
• Kickstart Lever
• Owner’s manual
2. Add electrolyte to battery and charge at 2 amps or less for approximately 1-2 hours to ensure fully charged.
CAUTION: BATTERY ELECTROLYTE CONTAINS HIGHLY CORROSIVE AND VOLATILE
ACID. PLEASE WEAR GLOVES AND SAFETY GLASSES DURING THIS PROCEDURE. KEEP
AWAY FROM FLAMES.
3. Install front wheel. Spin front wheel to ensure that speedometer is operational.
4. Install headset bolt if not already installed. Be careful to ensure no wiring is pinched when inserting bolt and
it is tightened properly. Make sure handlebars travel from stop to stop smoothly.
5. Check oil level. If low, fill with high quality motorcycle oil. Stella 4-Stroke ships with 20W40 engine oil.
6. Ensure that all cable pinch bolts are properly tightened and that cable ends are properly seated. Check
operation of all cables, this includes the rear brake, clutch cable, choke cable and throttle cable. Shift cables
must be checked seperately while engine running with clutch pulled in to avoid shift cable damage. Adjust
cables as necessary.
7. Check rear suspension, pivot, and wheel nuts/bolts for tightness.
8. Remove the front panel of each switch assembly and ensure that all small screws on the backside are
tightened. Replace after inspection.
9. Remove the headset top and inspect for any loose connections, individual terminals that have backed out, or
pinched wires. Also, be sure to check that the wiring running out to the handlebar controls are not pinched
and can move freely while the controls are being operated. Check for any stray cast flashing where wires pass
through to switches that may have been left behind from the manufacturing process. Use care when replacing
the headset top to not pinch or disconnect any wires.
10. Remove the horn cover to inspect for any loose connections or pinched wires.
11. Check that front turn signals inside glovebox are seated properly in their sockets.
12. Remove spare and check for any loose electrical connectors.
