Plot Length Calibration
1. Verify that Use Paper Encoder is checked (Figure 28).
This will ‘gray out’ the Drop On Floor and Take-Up
buttons.
2. Allow the paper to fall on the floor during this procedure.
3. Click on the
Start Box Test
button (Figure 28) to plot a
30 inch box.
4. Measure the plot length of the outside box as accurately
as possible.
5. Enter
30
as the expected length in the
Expected Length
text window (Figure 28).
6. Enter the measured length in the
Actual Length
text
window (Figure 28).
7. Click on the
Update Step Size
button (Figure 28). The
step size formula will calculate a new step size. The
Actual Length
text window will clear.
Note:
Do not click the Update Step Size
button more than once.
8. Click on the
Start Box Test
button (Figure 28) to plot
another 30 inch box.
9. Click on the
Start Box Test
button (Figure 28) to plot a
final 30 inch box. The
Actual Length
should equal the
Expected Length
of 30 inches. If the measurement is
not satisfactory, repeat the entire Plot Length Calibration
procedure.
10. Use the rest of the paper by plotting test markers from
the host system. Verify that quality is good.
11. Remove the paper roll core and set it aside. The core will
be used as a paper take-up roll core.
12. Install a new roll of paper (See manual section
Install
Paper Supply Roll
).
13. Thread the paper through the paper path (See manual
section
Thread Paper Through Paper Path
).
