Alarms
In this project Pfizer’s standard is used for alarm categories.
Active alarms are displayed on the operator panel. The alarms that need
acknowledgement, are acknowledged by pressing the reset alarm button on the HMI. It’s
possible look at historical alarms on the HMI. The plant has four alarm groups. A, B, C
and D-alarms and each group has classes. These describes the type of the alarm and how to
handle it.

1. Group A: Messages (5 classes)
A-alarms are used to describe the status of the machine.
2. Group B: Starting conditions (1 class)
B-alarms are used to describe the different conditions of the machine.
3. Group C: Operational alarms (3 classes)
C-alarms are used to describe the different conditions of the machine in operational mode.
4. Group D: Faults (3 classes)
D-alarms are used to describe the different faults the machine can get during operation.
