Taking the EPAC out of operation
NOTE:
The incorrect storage of your EPAC can damage the bearing, tyres and rechargeable battery pack and
promote corrosion. Store your EPAC in accordance with the following instructions if you are not going to use
your EPAC for more than 2 months.
The ambient temperature at the storage location must be between –10°C and + 35°C.
If you take your EPAC out of service for more than 2 months, you should charge up the rechargeable battery
pack every 2 months in accordance with section 8.5.1, Charging the rechargeable battery pack.
If you are not able to charge up the battery pack every two months, you can increase the storage time
without charging to 6 months. For this, a fuse on the rechargeable battery pack has to be removed.
1.
Fully charge the rechargeable battery pack, see
section 8.5.1, Charging the rechargeable
battery pack
.
2.
Ask your specialist bicycle dealer to remove the fuse from the rechargeable battery pack.
3.
Clean and service your EPAC as described in
section 14.2, How to clean and care for
your EPAC .
4.
Charge the rechargeable battery pack up.

section 8.5.1, Charging the rechargeable battery pack.
5.
Store your EPAC only in dry rooms where it is not exposed to dust.
6.
Use suitable bike stands (e.g. tripod).
Consult your specialist bicycle dealer on this.
7.
If your EPAC is standing with one or both wheels on the floor:
·
Lift your EPAC every 2-3 weeks and turn the wheels a few rotations by hand.
·
Move the handlebars back and forth a few times.
·
Turn the crank by hand a few revolutions in the opposite direction to the drive.
8.
Before you put the EPAC back into service:
·
Have your specialist bicycle dealer reinsert the fuse before you use the EPAC again.
·
Charge up the rechargeable battery pack completely.
·
Perform the checks in accordance with section
6, Before Every Use
