SPEEDOMETER
Your bus is equipped with a Cyberdyne digital speedometer. This speedometer indicates speed in miles
per hour (MPH) in one-mile increments. A 20-LED bar graph around the edge of this gauge’s display
redlines at 55 MPH. Below the speed, mileage is displayed on the odometer, which records total distance
traveled up to 999,999.9 miles.
Calibration
You must replace the speedometer (Gillig part number 51-49903-000, Cyberdyne part number 8303)
whenever you change tire size or drive-axle gear ratio. First call Gillig’s Engineering department and
determine the frequency to order for the new speedometer. You will use the following formula to deter
-
mine the frequency:
16 x (Drive Axle Gear Ratio) x (Tire Revs/Mile) X 80 MPH / 3600
Next, call the Gillig Parts Department and provide the correct speedometer frequency, for example,
922 HZ, when you order your replacement speedometer. The Cyberdyne digital speedometer installed on
your bus is not user programmable.
