Seat Cushion Replacement
1. Remove the plastic bellow (item #3.390 on Figure 11-
34
) by removing the black plastic pins
(item #3.400 on Figure 11-34) that hold it in place. The pins can be pried out using a flat screw
-
driver. Be careful not to tear the plastic.
2. Remove the height adjustment and tilt adjustment knobs (refer to the “Replace Knobs” section).
3. Remove the back by loosening the four bolts (refer to the “Seat Back Cover Replacement” sec
-
tion).
4. Using a flat screwdriver, remove the three plastic strips securing the seat cushion cover (item
#3.540 on Figure 11-
33).
5. The seat covers are secured by flaps that fit under metal runners on the seat base. To remove the
old covers, lower the covers, noting how they fit in the runners.
6. Install new covers using the following steps: Beginning at the front, slip the plastic strips that are
sewn on the replacement covers under the metal runners. Next, do both sides by fitting the plastic
strips under each runner. Last, secure the back of the replacement cover to the seat by the plastic
pins. Locate the holes with a center punch and pierce the fabric before inserting the plastic pins.
7. Replace the plastic bellow and reinsert the plastic pins.
Air Bag Replacement
1. Disconnect the source of air pressure.
2. Remove the seat from the riser by following the “Removing Seat From Riser” section.
3. Lower the bellows by following Step 1 of the “Seat Cushion Replacement” section (above).
4. Rest the seat on its back.
5. On the seat bottom in the middle of the flat air bag retaining bar is a bolt (item #3.290 on Figure
11-
34
). Remove this bolt using a 6mm Allen wrench.
6. The air hose fitting is on the top of the air bag retaining bar. Loosen the air hose fitting (item
#3.230 on Figure 11-
34
) and pull the air line free.
7. Loosen the top nut (item #3.240 on Figure 11-34
) that secures the air bag.
8. Remove the air bag (item #3.330 on Figure 11-
34
).
9. Insert the new air bag.
10. Reattach the top nut.
11. Secure the air line to the top of the air bag. Be sure that the air line is all the way on before tight
-
ening the air line fitting.
12. Reattach the bottom nut.
13. Reconnect air pressure to test air tightness of the new bag. Check the bag and connections for
leaks.
14. Make sure that the air bag compresses neatly into itself.
15. Replace the bellow and remount the seat.
