If the log gets stuck to the wedge, you
must rst allow the log pusher to return to
the starting position. Then insert a wedge-
shaped piece of wood in front of the log
pusher and move it forward so that the
stuck log goes above the log pusher.
If necessary repeat the procedure with
steeper wedges until the log is completely
free of the wedge. Never attempt to hit the
log free with a sledge hammer etc. as this
can result in personal injury and damage
the splitter.
Maintenance
Changing the hydraulic oil
The hydraulic oil must be replaced with
clean hydraulic oil after every 150 operating
hours.
Unplug the machine.
Loosen the oil drainage screw , and tilt the
log splitter so that the oil runs out into a
suitable container.
Pour in around 3 litres of new hydraulic oil,
and tighten the oil drainage screw. Check
the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level
must be between the two notches on the
dipstick when the log splitter is standing
normally.
Sharpening the wedge
Following a period of use or as required,
the wedge should be sharpened to remove
any burrs or at areas from the edge using
a metal le. Always remember to switch
off the current to the log splitter before
sharpening!
Transport
Before moving the log splitter, you must
remember to tighten the vent screw and
oil drainage screw to prevent any oil from
leaking out.
The log splitter can be transported on
its transport wheels (5) by gripping the
transport handle (2) and lifting the splitter
slightly. Please note that the log splitter is
very heavy!
If the log splitter is to be lifted using a
winch, the lifting straps must be placed
around the actual log splitter. It must never
be lifted off the ground using the transport
handle.
Cleaning
Turn off the power to the log splitter before
cleaning.
The switch must always be kept clean, dry
and free of oil and grease.
Wipe the log splitter’s surfaces with a damp
cloth. A small amount of detergent can be
applied to the cloth. Do not use strong,
abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents, as
these may damage the components. Oil and
grease can be removed using benzine or
similar.
