Boom Folding
1. Starting with the boom in the closed
position, pull each wing starting with the
left hand side, against the spring tension
in an out and down manner until open
and resting against the stop plate with the
adjustment bolt.
2. For 6 meter booms, flip the ends out after
removing the locking pins from the support
brackets. Replace the pins in the boom
hinge to secure them in the open position.
3.
If not aligned correctly when fully opened,
adjust position with the adjustment bolts as
described in the next section.
4.
Close the booms by flipping the ends back
in and securing with pins. Then pull the
right side wing against the spring tension
in an inwards and up direction until it holds
itself in the closed position. Repeat for the
other side.
Boom Fold Adjustment
Vertical Angle Adjustment
The boom should be in the open position.
Adjust the boom wing angle by removing one
set of adjuster bolts at a time and reinserting
them into another hole position.

bolts.
The wings should be made parallel with the
centre section. Re-tighten the adjuster bolts
once complete.
Horizontal Angle Adjustment
The boom horizontal angle is determined by
the stopper bolt position against the stopper
plate. Loosen the locking nut on the stopper
bolt and wind it in or out as necessary to make
the wing parallel with the centre section. Re-
tighten the locking nut once complete.
Spring Tension Adjustment
Firm spring tension is necessary to hold the
boom wings in both the open and closed
positions. Adjust the spring tension by placing
the end loop in one of three hole positions on
the boom centre.
Boom Lubrication
Folding booms have a grease nipple fitted at
each pivot point. Grease these points regularly
with quality multi purpose grease.

: See small booms manual for more
detailed boom information including parts
breakdown.
