TO INSTALL LINEAR BURNER:

1. 

Attach damper clamp to fireplace damper to

prevent damper from being fully closed.

2.

 Position burner assembly into fireplace and

position in center of floor.

3.

 Attach Gas connector to gas supply line and

connect to burner assembly. Use soapy water to
check connections for leaks. (Figure 3-1)

4.

 Pour silica sand into burner pan completely

covering pipe in pan. For LP Gas models, use
vermiculite instead of sand. (Figure 3-2)
NOTE! Optional decorative fireglass can be
susbstituted for silica sand or vermiculite (LP) for
a  more contemporary design if desired
(Figure 3-5).

 Place glowing ember material over sand

(Vermiculite LP). (Figure 3-3) Note: Not used if
optional decorative fireglass is used.

Spread the black volcanic cinders in front of and
on sides of Linear Burner (Figure 3-4)
NOTE! Optional Decorative Fireglass can also
be used in place of black volcanic cinders.

YOU ARE NOW READY TO LIGHT THE BURNER BY TURNING THE FIREPLACE GAS VALVE ON AND USING A

LONG MATCH OR BUTANE LOG LIGHTER. LIGHT THE BURNER BY POSITIONING MATCH OR LIGHTER JUST
OVER BURNER WHILE TURNING ON THE GAS VALVE. DURING THE FIRST FEW HOURS OF OPERATION, AN

OCASSIONAL POPPING SOUND CAN BE HEARD AS A RESULT OF THE METAL EXPANDING FROM HEAT. THIS

WILL STOP AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

Lighting instructions for “Alpine Linear

Burners” with a millivolt, spark to pilot,

or S-model “Skytech Hi/Lo” valve located

on subsequent pages of this manual.
