4.2.2 If there is no central socket meeting ISO9141, and no diagnosis socket satisfies ISO9141, please connect the
diagnosis unit by coupling. Turn off the ignition switch; connect the ECAS ECU to harness on the bus by coupling. See
the right figure
4.3 Parameters setting description:
It is the responsibility of main units’ manufacturer to set the parameters. When assembling the vehicle sample,
WABCO technicians and the main units’ manufacturer together will set the parameters of sample according to ECAS
functions selected by the customers or the main units’ manufacturer. After testing and all the requirements are met, the
parameters setting will be released. The standard parameters will be kept by WABCO and main units’ manufacturer one
for each for files and for after-sales service. Parameters can be set only after the pin code has been entered into the
diagnosis software or diagnostic unit. Every customer who buys WABCO diagnosis program or diagnostic unit will have
their corresponding PIN code.
5.
Calibration of ECAS system
In order that the ECU can evaluate the sensor signals correctly, the vehicle parameters of ECU shall be set after the
system startup or repair, for example, the height sensor value shall be corresponding to normal height of vehicle. This
value will be read in ECU lasting memory of with code of “normal height”. For this reason, when a system is replaced,
the calibration of the new system shall be set.
During rated values setting, it needs calibrating three height values, i.e., the normal height, upper limit and lower
limit of height. The upper and lower limits can be set by the main unit manufacturer, which do not always have to equal
with height where air bellow stops. The normal height can also be set separately when input the upper and lower height.
Before calibration, be sure that the height sensors can work properly, and the vehicle must rest on even road.
Calibration process:
Normal height calibration —— enter the calibration menu of diagnosis equipment, adjust the vehicle to normal
height by inflating or deflating the air bellows of front and rear axles, then regulate the swinging rod of 3 height sensors
to horizontal position. Save this height which will be memorized by ECU as normal height.
Max. height calibration —— raise the vehicle to max. height as required by vehicle manufacturer with diagnosis
equipment, and save this height, which will be memorized by ECU as the max. height.
Min. height calibration —— lower the vehicle to min. height as required by vehicle manufacturer with diagnosis
