air from the rear air reservoir enters the port 11, goes into the cavity A via the upper valve e and the inlet clearance j in
the upper valve body, and is transmitted through the port 21 to the relay valve of the rear braking line, which will open
the rear braking air line to apply a brake on the rear wheels.
Meanwhile, the compressed air from the cavity A functions over the middle piston f via the vent hole D, making
the middle piston move downward to open the lower valve g. Then, the compressed air from the right rear air reservoir
enters the port 12, goes into the cavity C via the clearance between the lower valve g and the lower valve body, and is
transmitted to the front quick release valve and brake air chamber, applying a brake on the front wheels.
When the brake pedal is released, under the function of the equalizing spring b and the piston return spring n, the
piston will move upward, the upper valve e will do the same to close the passage between the left rear air reservoir and
the rear relay valve, and the relay valve will disconnect the air line of rear brake. The piston c will continue to move
upward to form an exhaust clearance with the upper end of the upper valve e. The compressed air in the rear brake
control line will be discharged through the exhaust port to the atmosphere via the cavity A and the exhaust clearance.
The relay valve will close the air line of rear brake and the compressed air in the rear brake air cavity and rear brake air
line will be rapidly discharged from the relay valve to release the rear braking. Meanwhile, the middle piston f will
continue to move upward under the function of the compressed air in the cavity C, the lower valve g will do the same to
close the passage between the right rear air reservoir and the front quick release valve, and the quick release valve will
disconnect the air line of front brake. The middle piston f will continue to move upward to form an exhaust clearance h
with the upper end of the lower valve g. The compressed air in the front brake chamber will be discharged through the
exhaust port 3 to the atmosphere via the cavity C and the exhaust clearance h to release the rear braking.
In case of the failure of the rear brake line, the valve assembly e will move the piston f downward to close the
exhaust port h and open the inlet port g, making the front brake line work normally.

The
failure of the front brake line will not affect the normal operation of the rear brake line.
Hand braking valve
The hand braking valve controls the parking brake of the car and the trailer. As the parking brake requires no
progressive control, the hand braking valve for controlling parking brake is essentially an air switch. It is used to
manipulate the emergency braking and parking braking of buses with spring braking. The control lever will
automatically return to the driving position from between the traveling and parking positions and will be locked at
parking position.
