When the lever is at 0~10°, the intake valve m is fully opened and the exhaust valve n is closed, the air pressure

comes in via the port 11 and leaves via the port 21 and the whole vehicle rear brake system is fully released. When the
lever is at 10°~55°, under the function of the equalizing piston b and the equalizing spring g, the pressure P2 at the port
21 decreases linearly to zero with the increase of the lever turning angle. When the level is set at the anti-thrust point of
emergency brake, the whole vehicle is in full braking. When the lever is locked at 73°, the whole vehicle is fully
braked.

Quick release valve

The quick release valve is used to ensure a rapid air release of the air brake chamber while releasing the brake. It

is arranged on the pipeline between the brake valve and the brake air chamber, near to the chamber. As it is near to the
air chamber, the air release circuit is short, leading to a rapid air release. In the figure below, the intake valve of the
quick release port is closed while the exhaust port is open.

When there is no pressure in the air line, the valve plate 3 will make both the intake port 1 and the exhaust port 3

closed by its own elasticity.

In braking, the compressed air from the brake valve is fed via the intake port 1 to move the diaphragm 3

downward to leave the inlet port and seal the exhaust valve port. The air enters the two air chambers via the cavity A
and via the two outlet ports.

When the brake is released, the pressure at the port 1 is reduced and the diaphragm 3 will close the intake port

under the function of the chamber pressure, making the compressed air leave the air brake chamber via the exhaust port
3. As the exhaust line is short, the exhaust time is greatly reduced.
