Break System BR-6125J93C-01 BR-11
coefficient
φ
Z will reach its peak value:
3)
When the slip rate S continues to increase, the longitudinal adhesion coefficient
φ
Z will continue to decrease;
and the lateral adhesion coefficient
φ
C will continues to fall since the very beginning.
4)
When the slip rate S is 100%, the wheels are blocked up and
φ
Z will reduce to a lower point while the lateral
adhesion coefficient
φ
C will almost become zero.
It is clear that when the slip rate is within 15%~35%, both the longitudinal adhesion coefficient
φ
Z and the lateral
adhesion coefficient
φ
C will be at their large values. A large longitudinal adhesion coefficient can produce a large
braking force to ensure a short brake distance; and a large lateral adhesion coefficient can produce a large lateral force
to ensure the direction stability of car brake. This is the basic working principle of ABS system.

ABS anti-lock brake system is to control the slip rate of all wheels within the optimal scope of 8%~35% at car
brake. In the above optimal slip rate scope, not only the longitudinal adhesion coefficient but also the lateral adhesion
coefficient between wheels and the ground are large, ensuring the directional stability.
6.
Air pressure brake lines
There are three lines connecting various components in the air pressure brake system:
1)
Energy supply line: connecting the components of energy supply devices (such as air compressor and air
reservoir), and connecting the energy supply devices with the control devices (such as brake valves);
2)
Actuating line: connecting the control devices and brake actuating devices (such as brake air chamber);
3)
Manipulating line: connecting one control device with another.
7.
Automatic clearance adjusting arm
Function
The automatic clearance adjusting arm is used to compensate the
clearance produced by the normal wear of brake shoe in braking process.
In braking, the automatic brake clearance adjusting arm rotates and drives
the brake camshaft to rotate. The brake camshaft drives the brake shoe to
contact the brake drum, thus realize the braking.
During the process of braking engaging and releasing, the automatic
brake clearance adjusting arm turns the camshaft to ensure a proper
clearance between the brake shoe and the brake drum.
