Break System BR-6125J93C-01 BR-33
Routine maintenance
1)
Add lithium-base lubricating grease to the adjusting arm for every 20,000km travel.
2)
For every 20,000km travel, counterclockwise turn the square hexagon head of worm of adjusting arm, measure the
brake release torque. Repeat it for three times, the adjusting arm assembly shall be replaced timely.
Routine inspection
Check if the automatic adjusting arm and fixing support are damaged, if the fixing support is securely fastened and
if the control arm is fully released.
Caution: When the brake is released, the automatic clearance indicator should point to the notch site.
The automatic clearance adjusting arm can not guarantee proper brake adjustment and brake balance by itself. Some
basic parts of the brake directly affect the adjustment device of the brake. Thus they shall be checked regularly.
A bus should use automatic clearance adjusting arms of the same brand. It is prohibited to use adjusting arms of
different brands for a same bus.
Brake air chamber
1)
Check if the air brake chamber is securely and properly installed so as to avoid the mutual interference between
the pushrod and the housing of air chamber.
2)
Check if the pushrod lengths of the two air chambers on a same axle are the same.
Camshaft bushing
Worn bushing of S-shaped camshaft will increase the pushrod stroke. The worn bushing should be timely replaced
each time the brake shoe plate is replaced.
Adjustment of wheel bearing
Accurate pre-tightening force of wheel bearing is necessary, which can ensure a mutual alignment between the
brake shoe and the brake drum.
Operation inspection
1)
Measure the pushrod length when the brake air chamber is in full release, which is the distance from the air
chamber surface to the center line of U-clamp pin of pushrod, and record it as Distance A.
2)
Ask your assistant to execute an 800kPa braking operation and measure the pushrod length once again. Record it
as Distance C.
3)
Subtract Distance A from Distance C and the difference is the travel used.
4)
Make sure the value of use travel is smaller than the maximum value specified in the above figure.
Make sure the control arm of the automatic clearance adjusting arm is correctly installed. It should be replaced if
the specified travel of use can not be reached.
Diagnosis and repair
Brake sensitiveness or delay
Inspect the following items of components
1)
The positioning of the fixing bracket for the control arm of automatic clearance adjusting arm is improper.
2)
If the spring brake device is not fully released.
----If the spring energy storage brake is not fully released
----If the e pushrod is stuck to the housing of brake air chamber
----If the air is not fully exhausted due to blocked exhaust hole (pipe)
3)
If the brake drum is not round
4)
If the difference in the clearances between the brake shoe and the brake drum on both sides of the same wheel is
too large
5)
If the adjustment of wheel bearing is not proper
6)
If the return spring of brake shoe is broken
7)
If the brake shoe is too loose.
If the pushrod travel of air brake chamber is too long.
Inspect the following items
1)
If the fixing support of control arm is too loose, invalid or bent
