Instruction manual

Intended use

The external DVB-T antenna serves to receive and amplify digital terrestrial TV signals. It is only intended for connection to the
antenna outputs of suitable DVB-T devices. Only the supplied power unit (#51501 DVB-T DOA 50 PS, only) or the 5 V antenna
voltage of the connected DVB-T device is to be used for power supply. The power unit may only be connected to 230V~/50Hz AC
and may only be used in closed spaces, i.e. not to be used outdoors. Contact with humidity, e.g. in wet rooms and similar, must be
avoided at all times. The external antenna is hose-proof and UV resistant and can be used in enclosed spaces as well as outdoors.
Use other than that described above can damage the product and may involve additional risks such as short circuits, fi re and
electric shocks. No part of the product should be altered or modifi ed, and the housing must not be opened.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

Safety instructions

We do not resume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the product has been abused in any way or
damage by improper use or failure to observe these operating instructions.

• For safety and licensing reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the device is not permitted.
• Never touch the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• The power unit and the power adapter may only be used in enclosed spaces, i.e. not to be used outdoors.
• Avoid subjecting the antenna to heavy mechanical stress and do not expose it to high temperatures, intense vibration or
  heavy mechanical load.
• Keep the antenna out of the reach of children. It is not a toy.
• Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.

Mounting

Avoid placing the DVB-T antenna close to devices emitting interference (e.g. microwaveovens, mobile phones,
powerful engines, etc.).
You should also not install the device close to large metal surfaces, because these may strongly dampen the receiving signal.
Place the antenna as high as possible to ensure maximum reception.
The external DVB-T antenna may only be installed in accordance with the applicable VDE and local electricity board regulations.
Make sure you install the device to a solid, level base, e.g. brickwork.
When drilling mounting holes, ensure that no existing electrical cables or water pipes will be damaged. Should the length of the
supplied antenna cable not be suffi cient, use a suitable digital antennacable for extension. Before mounting the gooseneck stand,
the receptionquality at the chosen mounting point should be checked.
Pay attention to correct mounting and a secure grip of the external antenna. People could be injured if the device falls.
