- Never smoke when refuelling
5) Check the battery charge of walking tractors with starting systems.
ATTENTION
- Never check, top up or recharge the battery near a naked flame. Never smoke near the battery.
- When working near the battery, always make sure you are protected against splashes of acid. If
electrolyte comes into contact with your skin, wash the area with plenty of cold water and seek medical
assistance if irritation continues.
- Always remove the battery cell plugs before recharging the battery.
6) Check the tightness of the bolts used for securing the main components.

engine.
Starting the engine (Fig. 1-3-9)
ATTENTION
-The walking tractor has a lever (motorstop) that should always be lowered along with the clutch lever
which should be pulled upwards in order to start the engine.
-Never ever tamper with the safety device (motorstop) for any reason whatsoever.
- Never start the engine unless this safety device is perfectly efficient.
-The walking tractor and the implements to which it is hitched must only be used by qualified persons.
-Never leave the engine running in an enclosed space unless there is an effective system for disposing of
the exhaust gases.
-Never leave the machine unattended with the engine running.
- Always make sure that there is no one working around the machine before you start the engine.
11) Make sure that all control levers are in neutral.
2) Pull the brake levers (6 and 7) towards the operator to
brake the machine (Fig. 3).
3) Turn on the fuel tank cock and use the starter if the
engine is cold (consult the Operation and Maintenance
manual of the engine).
4) Press the motorstop lever (4) (Fig. 9).
5) Pull the clutch lever (3) and lock it with device (A)
so that the lever (4) (motorstop) is maintained in the
lowered position (Fig. 9).

6) Move the accelerator lever (10) (Fig. 1) to approximately half of its travel.
7/a) SELF-WINDING PULL START: grip the starter handle and pull sharply.
Accompany the handle back in place until the cord has fully rewound once the engine has started.
7/b) ELECTRIC STARTER: insert the key (14) into the ignition switch and turn it to position (2), (see Fig.
depicting switch 14).
It will automatically return to position (1) once the engine has started.
