Karma Care and Maintenance
CAUTION: Failure to follow care and maintenance instructions could
lead to injury or damage.
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose your Karma to rain or moisture.
As with any electronic products, use care not to spill liquids into any part of the system.
Liquids can cause failure and/or a fire hazard. Never open, disassemble, or modify your
Karma or any other GoPro product, except in accordance with GoPro’s instructions.
Unauthorized alterations may compromise safety, regulatory compliance, and system
performance.
Touching internal parts could result in injury or exposure to shock and/or electrical or
mechanical hazards. Your controller has an LCD touch screen which must be handled
with care. If the LCD screen breaks, avoid contact with the glass or any liquid to prevent
injury. If the product breaks and exposes internal parts, contact GoPro Customer Support
for assistance.
When disconnecting the power cord from your wall outlet, grasp and pull at the base of
the plug, not on the cord itself. Never use a charger that is damaged or has a cord that is
pinched or frayed. Avoid charging your Karma battery or controller in extremely high or low
temperatures and do not use the charger outdoors or in damp areas.
For safety purposes, use only genuine GoPro supplied or purchased parts and batteries
with your Karma. The use of any other component, accessory, or charger that is not
recommended by GoPro may cause fire, electric shock, or injury. Your warranty does not
cover damage caused by use of unauthorized attachments. For approved accessories,

Battery Disposal
Most rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries are classified as non-hazardous waste and
are safe for disposal in the normal municipal waste stream. Many localities have laws in
place requiring battery recycling. Check your local laws to make sure that you can dispose
of rechargeable batteries in your regular trash. To safely dispose of lithium-polymer
batteries, protect terminals from exposure to other metal with packing, masking, or
electrical tape so they do not cause a fire while being transported. Lithium-polymer
batteries, however, do contain recyclable materials and are accepted for recycling by
the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s (RBRC) Battery Recycling Program.
We encourage you to visit Call2Recycle at call2recycle.org or call 1-800-BATTERY in
North America to find a convenient recycling location. Never dispose of a battery in a fire
because it may explode.
