INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Thank you for choosing this Gorenje scale. To use it
effectively, please read these instructions. We hope that you
enjoy using our scale for many years.
This scale is intended only for use in households, i.e.
only for domestic use!
Important safeguards
When using battery-powered appliances, basic safety
precautions, including the following, should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, leaking batteries, personal
injury and material damage.
This manual includes instructions for normal use. If you use
any accessory or attachment, or perform any operation on
this appliance, other than those described in this instruction
manual, you may damage and destroy the appliance. Keep
this manual for future reference.
Do not allow unknown persons or children not familiar with
the instructions use the appliance.
Use of the scale
*
Do not use the appliance near heat sources or
combustible materials.
*
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
*
Always protect the appliance from water or excessive
humidity.
*
Do not use the appliance at ambient temperatures below
10 °C or above 30 °C.
After use
*
Remove the batteries when you do not intend to use the
scale for a longer period of time.
*
When not in use, the scale should be stored in a dry place
out of reach of children.
Inspection and maintenance
*
Before use, check the appliance for damage. This could
affect its operation.
*
Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or
defective.
*
Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or
replaced by an authorised repair agent.
*
Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than
those specified in this manual.
Electrical safety
*
To avoid the risk of short circuiting, do not immerse the
appliance or the batteries in water or other liquid.
*
Use only the correct type of batteries for the appliance
(see technical data).
*
Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
*
The electronic components inside the appliance may be
affected by other devices used in close proximity, such as
mobile phones or microwave ovens. If this happens, the
display will show erroneous data.
*
To remedy this, either switch the interfering device off, or
move the appliance away from it.
Before using the appliance for the first time
*
Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
*
Open the battery compartment on the underside of the
scale and remove the small plastic strips clamped
between the batteries and the contacts. Close the battery
compartment afterwards, such that the battery
compartment cover audibly engages.
*
The scale can display weight in kilograms (kg) or pounds
(lb). You can choose the displayed unit on the back of the
appliance.
*
Select the desired unit by pressing the UNIT key.
Set-up
Place the scale on a level and firm surface. Firm placement
is a prerequisite for correct measurement.
NOTE
► This appliance is equipped with non
-slip rubber feet. As
furniture surfaces may be made of a variety of materials and
treated with many different types of cleaning agents, it
cannot be completely ruled out that some substances
contain ingredients which may corrode the rubber rests and
soften them. If possible, place an anti-slip mat under the feet
of the scale.
Using the scale
- Place the scale on level and solid floor.
