Making Coffee
CAUTION!
■
Danger of burns from steam escaping!
Never open the water tank cover when the
coffee machine is switched on. Also do not pour any water into the water tank while
it is hot! Hot steam or hot spray water may escape. Always switch off the coffee ma-
chine
fi
rst and allow it to cool down before you add any more water.
■
Danger of burns!
The hotplate, the
fi
lter and
fi
lter holder are hot during the brewing
process and immediately afterwards. There may also be hot water inside the
fi
lter
and
fi
lter holder. Let the
fi
lter and
fi
lter holder cool down before you touch them.
■
Before you
fi
rst operate the device, make sure that the water tank cover is closed
and that the
fi
lter and the
fi
lter holder are inserted correctly so that the water can run
through the coffee powder without any problems.
■
Do not operate the coffee machine unattended so that you can intervene immediately
in the event of any malfunctions (e.g. over
fl
ow etc.). If the
fi
lter does over
fl
ow, switch
the device off immediately and allow the
fi
lter holder to cool down before you remove
it.
■
Never place an empty glass jug on a warm hotplate! The glass could be damaged.
You require
fi
lter paper bags of size 1 x 4.
The device has overheating protection which prevents the device from being
switched on again directly after a brewing process for safety reasons. After a
brewing process, you should therefore wait for a few minutes until the device has
cooled down before you start another brewing process.
1. Open the water tank cover (
18
).
2. Insert the
fi
lter holder (
2
) into the
fi
lter compartment (
17
).
Make sure that it
fi
ts properly.
3. Insert a
fi
lter paper bag of size 1 x 4 into the
fi
lter holder.
4. Pour in the quantity of coffee powder you want (generally
one heaped spoonful per cup).
