5. Pour fresh drinking water into the water tank (

CAUTION: Do not pour the water into the fi lter holder!
The feed openings are located next to the
fi
lter holder.
Make sure that the amount of water is between the bottom
and top marks on the water level indicator (

).
6. Flip the water tank cover shut and place the jug (with the
lid closed) onto the hotplate (

).
7. Use the
button (

) to select one of the brewing op-
tions normal,
strong coffee,
small amount
of coffee (1 to 4 cups).
8. Switch on the coffee machine. To do this, press the
I/O
On / Off button (

). The button lighting is activated and on
the display (

) the
symbol

ashes.
9. If you want to stop the brewing process prematurely, press
the
I/O
On / Off button again. The button lighting and the
symbol on the display go out.
The
fi
lter holder has a non-drip valve. You can also take the coffee jug from
the hotplate during the brewing process and pour yourself a cup of coffee. But
beware: Place the coffee jug back on the hotplate within 1 minute to prevent the
fi
lter from over
fl
owing!
10. When all of the coffee has run through, you can take the
coffee jug off the hotplate and serve the coffee.
11. When the jug is empty, switch off the coffee machine. To
do this, press the
I/O
On / Off button. The button lighting
and the symbol on the display then go out.
Otherwise the hotplate continues heating for around an-
other 30 minutes. The coffee machine then switches off
automatically.
12. After use, clean the
fi
lter holder and the coffee jug in the
manner described in the “Cleaning and Descaling” chap-
ter.
