❐
Only ever use fats and oils which are suitable for high temperatures, i.e. for deep-frying. Do
not use cold-pressed oils or butter. Note the manufacturer's speci
fi
cations on the packaging.
❐
Do not pour too much oil/fat into the deep fryer, do not exceed the MAX marking in the
frying container as this could cause the deep fryer to spill over and cause serious burns.
❐
Do not operate the device without or with too little oil / fat. Fill the device at least up to the
MIN marking in the frying container. Check the level of oil / fat before each use.
❐
Do not mix together different types of fat or oil as this could cause the deep fryer to spill
over!
❐
If you use solid fat, it must be cut up into pieces and melted down separately in a separate
vessel at low temperatures and only then be poured slowly into the inner container.
❐
Never melt a large block of solid fat in the frying container directly! If the fat has become
solid after it was last used in the frying container, poke holes in it using a fork and then warm
it up on the lowest temperature setting.
❐
IMPORTANT: The lid of the deep-fat fryer only closes correctly when the frying
basket handle has been pulled out. You should therefore always make sure that
the handle has been pulled out before you insert it into the deep-fat fryer!
❐
When preparing frozen food, lower the frying basket slowly and carefully into the hot fat so
that it does not bubble over. Keep a suf
fi
cient distance away from the device in order to avoid
burns caused by splashes of hot fat.
❐
Do not place food in the device wrapped in cling
fi
lm or plastic bags.
Preparing Food
• Cut the food into pieces of equal size so that they cook evenly. Avoid pieces which are too
thick.
• Make sure that the food which is used is dry. This will prevent the fat splashing or bubbling
up unnecessarily.
• Frozen food must be well shaken before being deep-fried in order to remove any loose
chunks of ice. Tip: Frozen chips will be crispier if you rinse them with cold water and then
carefully dry them before deep-frying them.
• To make particularly crispy chips from fresh potatoes, do the following:
fi
rst wash the pota-
toes after peeling them under cold water in order to remove the starch in the potatoes. Then
dry the chips fully before you deep-fry them. This will make your chips extra crispy and stop
them sticking together when they are deep-fried.
• Do not over
fi
ll the frying basket! An over
fi
lled frying basket lowers the temperature in the
device, which means that your food will absorb too much fat and not go crispy. If frozen food
is used, the quantity must be reduced.
Deep-Frying

on whether the food is raw or frozen.
• The cooking times also depend on your personal taste of course: If you prefer your
