Cutie Frame
Task 17 - Moving the Fabric
Instructions
Because many quilts are larger than the frame’s hoop, it helps to break up the quilt into sections,
called “zones” that can be fully quilted before you have to move the quilt to a new zone. Once you’ve
filled up a section of your quilt with stitching, it’s time to move to a new zone.
2
Quilt Zone
Slide your quilt across the frame until the next zone of unstitched space is in the quiltable area
of the frame’s hoop.
Zone A
Zone B
Zone C
Zone D
Zone G
Zone J
Zone E
Zone F
Zone I
Zone H
Zone K
Zone L
Tip:
To ensure that your stitch
lines are smooth and seamless
from zone to zone, keep about 2
inches of overlap between your
zones. This means when you
move to a new zone, two inches
of the stitched area from the
previous zone will be within the
quiltable area of the new zone.
