Instructions
A broken, bent, or burred needle may break thread, damage fabric, or even damage the machine.
Always check that the needle is in good repair before starting a new project, and replace the needle
after eight hours of use.

Maintaining the Machine
To change the needle, take the following steps:
1.
Power off the machine.
For information on selecting a
needle, see page 78.
2. Raise the needle to the highest position with
the hand wheel.
3. Loosen the
needle thumb screw
. If
needed, use a flat-head screwdriver.
