Each valve bank has a clipper relief located in the inlet section of the valve bank. This relief is provided to
protect against momentary pressure rises. These reliefs are not pump reliefs and do not handle full flow. These
reliefs should only be checked if low pressures exist throughout the valves. This may be accompanied by a high
pitched squeal from the valve banks and/or the hydraulic system running hotTer than normal.
Place gauge (10,000 psi) on inlet test port of either valve bank. Turn hoist up port relief (rear relief) clockwise
two full turns. DO NOT BOTTOM. Turn hoist regulator (under rear end cap) clockwise one and one-half turns.
Turn pump cutoff screw (rear adjustment screw on pump controls) clockwise one full turn.

Run engine at idle. Hoist up slowly and bottom. As hoist bottoms, watch gauge for clipper reliefs to open.
The correct setting is 5,150 - 5,300 psi. If setting is incorrect, start with the front clipper relief. If this does not
alter the setting, return this relief to its original position and adjust rear relief.

Repeat as needed until both clipper reliefs are properly set.
Reset main pump cutoff pressure (see main pump cutoff pressure section for procedure).
Reset hoist up port reliefs and section regulator. (See XL 5110 Hydraulic Pressure Setting Manual Hoist Valve
