Chapter 8: Freedom 325
W A R N I N G
If the reverse polarity indicator on the AC panel is activated, immediately disconnect the shore
power cable, and have a qualified electrician correct the fault.
C A U T I O N
The retaining ring on the shore power cable plug should be screwed on the threaded portion of
the boat inlet to prevent the cable from working loose or becoming detached when in use. If
your shore power cable is missing this ring, or showing signs of wear or burn marks around the
terminals where it plugs into the inlet, it should be replaced immediately. A loose fitting plug
will create electrical resistance that can lead to a fire hazard.
Disconnecting The Shore Power
1. Turn all of the AC panel switches to the “off” position.
2. Turn the shore power breaker under the aft port gunwale to the “off” position.
3. Turn the breaker at the dock outlet to the “off” position.
4. Disconnect the shore power cable at the dock outlet first.
5. Disconnect the shore power cable at the boat inlet.
N OT I C E
Keep inlet cover closed tightly when not in use.
Shower Sump
The shower sump is located beneath the step in the head/port console. The sump pump gets
electrical power from the helm accessory fuse block and therefore as long as the battery select
switches are on, the pump will operate when needed. The sump collects and discharges drainage
from the head shower, as well as condensation from the air conditioner. The shower sump contains
a filter which should always be installed when using the shower to prevent the sump pump from
becoming clogged. Similar to a bilge pump, the sump pump is activated automatically by a float
switch to discharge the collected water overboard via a thru hull. See "Shower Sump" on page
