7.3 Vacuum Pump Wiring
When connecting the vacuum pump to a power supply, be sure to follow the wiring instructions given in the
user's manual provided with your pump.
•
Make sure that the cables and switches used for the wiring of your vacuum pump conform to the pump's rated
speci
fi
cations and to the safety standards of the country in which it is used.
•
The pump uses a large amount of current. When connecting the pump to a power supply, be sure to con
fi
rm that the
power supply you plan to use has a capacity which comfortably exceeds the amount of permissible current.
•
Make sure that no foreign objects are sucked into the pump, as there is a danger that the motor will lock up and that
a large amount of current will
fl
ow, causing damage to the pump and the possibility of
fi
re.
•
When connecting the pump to a power supply, make sure that there is a safety device such as a breaker or current
leak alarm
fi
tted. If required, use the safety equipment such as an air
fi
lter or auto breaker stipulated in your user's
manual. Make sure that the pump is properly grounded.
• When the pump is
fi
rst switched on, a large current
fl
ows which can cause malfunctioning of any computer or plotter
connected to the same power supply. Whenever possible, avoid supplying the vacuum pump and other equipment
from the same power supply.
