Chapter 2 CUTTER BLADES, CUTTER PENS AND PENS

Holder (B)
(1) Remove holder (B) by turning the blade length adjustment knob in the counterclockwise
direction.
(2) Remove the cutter blade from the holder.
(3) With the holder facing downward, insert the new cutter blade.
(4) Make sure the cutter blade is inserted straight into the holder. If the cutter blade is
positioned at an angle, gently tap the plunger to correct the orientation of the cutter blade.
(5) With the holder facing downward, attach the plunger cap and then turn the blade length
adjustment knob in the clockwise direction until the blade tip is visible.
(6) After a cutter blade has been replaced, check that it rotates smoothly inside the cutter
pen.
(7) If the cutter blade does not rotate smoothly or the cutter blade falls out after the cutter pen
has been mounted in the pen carriage, the inside of the holder is insuf
fi
ciently lubricated.
In this case, apply the grease provided with the cutter pen set to the three points indicated
by the arrows in the
fi
gure.
Be careful not to stab your
fi
nger when handling the cutter blade.

(1) Remove holder (B) by turning the blade adjustment knob in the counterclockwise direction.
(2) Remove the cutter blade and the spring from the holder.
(3) With the plunger held at an angle, and with the plunger cap pointing upward, insert the
new cutter blade with its spring attached into the plunger.
Take care that the spring does not fall off the cutter blade.
(4) Make sure that the cutter blade is inserted straight into the plunger. If the cutter blade is
inserted at an angle, gently tap the plunger to correct the orientation of the cutter blade.
(5) With the plunger in the upright position, insert the holder cap until you hear it click into
place. Turn the blade adjustment knob in the clockwise direction to adjust the length of the
cutter blade.
