About the recording buffer
The built-in recording buffer enables the DMR to continue recording even when the
media is temporarily inaccessible, for example due to heavy shocks. When the DMR
runs out of storage capacity on the selected media during a recording, it automatically
switches over to another media, if available. Select the preferred media order, or disable
the function, by selecting
Setup | RecBuff | Preferred Media
from the Main menu.
• If no media has been loaded, the DMR records to an internal buffer for a few seconds.
When you insert a media disk, the DMR automatically records the buffered material
to the disk.
• You can press the Record button before any input has been selected; the DMR will
record, for a few seconds, black or colorbars depending on how you have configured
the system.
