If all devices pinged successfully and there is still communication
failure, proceed to
Control Surface Troubleshooting on page 187

If a device did not ping successfully, you can use the Windows
Command Prompt in the next section to ping devices separately.
Ping Devices With Command Prompt
If one or all of the devices failed to ping properly from the Zodiak Install
application, try pinging the devices using the Command Prompt in Win-
dows. This procedure requires the use of a keyboard and mouse connected
to the Menu panel. Refer to Installation for connecting a mouse and key-
board.
CAUTION
Do not connect the mouse and keyboard while the Menu panel is powered up.
This procedure also requires that you know the IP address of each of the
Zodiak devices. If you are using the default IP addresses set at the factory,
the values are also listed in the steps below and in
1.
Launch the Command Prompt application from the Windows
Start/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt
menu.

At the prompt, enter the ping command followed by the IP address of
the device and press enter.

Ping the Frame on the Menu LAN first by entering the ping command
and the IP address (192.168.54.18 is the factory default).

If this is not successful, try pinging the Menu panel itself (192.168.54.8
is the factory default). If this is unsuccessful, the problem is in the Menu
panel.

If the menu panel to Frame ping is successful, ping the Frame on the
Panel LAN (192.168.55.18 is the factory default).
If this is successful, the Frame is communicating properly and acting
correctly as the gateway between the Main and Menu panels.

Next ping the Main panel on the Panel LAN (192.168.55.8 is the factory
default).
If this is successful, all IP addresses, except for the panel gateway
address, are correct and network connectivity has been verified.

To test the gateway connection, perform a DPOP of any applicable
button (such as a
Wipe
button) on the Main panel to bring up the
corresponding menu in the Zodiak Menu application.

If communication between the Main panel and the frame is still not
restored, and devices ping properly, perform the
